Identify the draw
Look for the draw date, draw number and the organisation publishing the result. Similar four-digit numbers can appear in unrelated records, so the number alone is insufficient. Match all three details before comparing a result with an archive.
Preserve the number format
Leading zeroes are part of a four-digit number. For example, 0042 is a four-digit entry, while 42 omits two of its positions. Check that any copied or reformatted result preserves every digit.
Read the result table
Prize tiers and selection rules vary by draw format. A table from one operator cannot be read using another operator’s tier labels without checking the rules. Historical results document past draws and do not predict a later draw.
