Match, map and series
A match may contain several maps or games. A best-of format describes the maximum structure of a series; it does not mean every possible game will be played. These distinctions matter when reading an event schedule.
Identify the tournament stage
Group stages, playoffs and finals can use different formats. Rosters, substitutes and schedules can also change between stages. Check the tournament organiser’s current event page and compare its update date with any archived listing.
Separate results from commentary
A tournament organiser’s published result is different from a stream overlay or a third-party score feed. An overlay may be delayed or refer to a single map. Predictions and commentary describe opinions, while the official match record identifies the completed result.
